Accept Donation via PayPal

PayPal.com is the international service used for money transfer. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer. You may have seen the Donate buttons from Paypal on many blogs. These allow your blog visitors to express their satisfaction about your blog by giving the great author (yes, You are!) small amount of money (a donation).

Integrate PayPal Donations with your website in a few easy steps. Here is how to add a PayPal donate button to your blog (or website):

  1. Create an account. Click following banner to create your free PayPal account (skip this step if you already have a PayPal account)...
Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly.
  2. Log in to your PayPal account.

  3. Click Merchant Services

  4. Click Donations. The link is located within 'Key Features' box within page content (not visible directly in the navigation menu. Just read the page content, you'll find it).
(note: you may skip step #3 and #4 by typing https://www.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick-donations-factory directly on your address bar of your browser).

  5. Complete the form with the details of your item and select the Donation button you wish to use. For assistance with this process, click More Resources link in the upper right corner of this page.

  6. Select donation button you would like to use.
    • Skip this step if you accept offered default button ( PayPal Donation default button )
    • Click on 'more button' to select from other pre-defined button. Offered alternative buttons:
PayPal Donation default button (GIF 110x23px) PayPal Donation button (GIF 73x44px) PayPal Donation button (GIF 62x31px) PayPal Donation button (GIF 60x23px)
    • You can use your own custom button by uploading it to your own server / blog server then typing URL of uploaded image into the "Button Image URL" text box.

  8. If you want to edit generated HTML code to fine-tuning available options, set Button Encryption to "(*)No" by selecting the radio button. If you are not fully understand this, just skip this step and let PayPal encrypt your button link (default and highly recommended).

  9. If you need to specify additional details, click Add More Options and fill out the appropriate fields. You may skip this step to accept PayPal default options (recommended if you are planning to put this button on your blog. "More Options" requires advanced understanding on HTML concept).

  10. Click Create Button Now.

  11. Copy the code into clipboard.

  12. Click Done if you are finished creating buttons, or click on Create Another Button if you want to make additional buttons.
Follow these steps if you are using Blogger (blogspot.com):

  3. Click the Add page Element link in sidebar on the Page Elements subtab of Template tab.

  7. Clear Cache and view Blog.
The button on the right of this text is a working example of PayPal Donate button using custom image (animated GIF, 168x28px), price set to USD 1, with some advanced options set. Seriously, if you really like this blog, small donation of USD 1 is really acceptable. Not for the value of the money of course... but I'll take it as sign of appreciation for what I've made so far to make this blog really benefits you. (You can use this image hotlinked for your own usage, free of charge! Just link to http://1nk.us/ppd_coffee for static version, or http://1nk.us/ppda_coffee for animated version).
